FAQ
Q1:WILL MY ROOF RACK WORK WITH A LATITUDE ROOF TENT?
Latitude rooftop tents are designed to fit on most vehicles with roof racks. The general rule of thumb is to make sure that your roof bar system has a dynamic weight capacity of at least the weight of the tent. This is the weight that the rack can physically carry while the vehicle is in motion. When the tent is in use the weight of the tent plus the weight of its occupants is effectively dispersed over the entire frame of the vehicle, as well as the tent hinge and ladder, also known as the static weight capacity.

Q2:WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A ROOF TOP TENT?
Fast and easy to set-up. Better wind and rain protection than a conventional tent. You are off the ground and away from any animals and insects. Better views and ventilation than camping on the ground. Your tent will not collect as much dirt as a conventional ground tent. You don't need a flat spot to set up your tent. Rocks and mud are no longer a problem. No extra cost for an air mattress, this tent comes with a high-density foam mattress. Less expensive than a caravan, trailer, or motorhome and it takes up less space. You can leave your Latitude roof top tent on all year long so you will always have a campsite wherever and whenever you need one. Extra shade and/or privacy area with the annex and awning.
We're sure you'll find even more added benefits of a root top tent whilst out exploring with one too!
Q3:HOW DO I MOUNT THIS TENT TO MY VEHICLE?

All tents are supplied with an installation guide, which is also available online. We also have a video guide to help you and are happy to offer an installation service at our HQ near Bath, Somerset.
Q4:WHAT ARE THE SHIPPING COSTS AND LEAD TIMES?
Shipping for the UK takes 4-7 working days. We ship from our Somerset warehouse.
Shipping within the UK is free. Delivery & lead times are subject to stock.
Q5:DO YOU PROVIDE A WARRANTY?
Latitude provides a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty on all material, craftsmanship, and components. This covers manufacturing defects and does not extend to normal wear and tear, cosmetic blemishes sustained during use or damage caused by improper use, improper cleaning, or improper storage. Latitude will repair or replace (at our discretion) defective items at no cost to the original customer.

Q9:HOW DOES A ROOF TENT FAIR IN HIGH WINDS?
Our roof tents can deal with high winds thanks to multiple features. The large windows and entrances allow for air to pass straight through, plus the curved roof design helps direct air around the tent. Supplied guy lines keep the tent tied down at one end, whilst at the other, the vehicle is used as the anchor point.
Q10:DO YOU SELL SPARE PARTS?
Yes, if you require spare parts please contact us. We hold spares of all components, hardware and covers.

FIND ROOF BARS
You can get roof bars for your vehicle, even if it’s not obvious how they would be mounted. Our roof tents can also be mounted to roof racks.
The three styles are shown below:

SIDE RAILS
These are elevated profiles running down either side of the vehicle. Some are raised from the roof, others are flush with the roof. Some are universal in profile, but it is worth checking first in case you need specific roof bars.

MOUNTING POINTS
Like a plain style roof, but with discrete fixing points often hidden within vehicle trim or under small flaps.

PLAIN ROOF
A smooth-looking roof with no obvious mounting points. There are still plenty of roof bar options.
ROOF BAR LOAD LIMITS
The roof load limit can be a confusing subject, as many vehicles and roof bar limits are around 75kgs. “but the weight of the roof tent plus me and any others inside will be much more than this” we hear you say.
However, don’t worry!
These weight limits are dynamic load ratings. This means it’s the weight limit when the vehicle is in motion, so when you and others are inside the roof tent when it’s stationary, this figure isn’t relevant and the static load rating is substantially higher and not an issue.
The forces applied whilst the vehicle is moving, such as air resistance at speed, braking, cornering etc are far more than when your stationary and inside the roof tent.
WHERE TO PURCHASE YOUR ROOF BARS
There are a number of places to get the roof bars required for your vehicle.
Depending on the popularity of the car, van or 4x4 you drive, some places may have them in stock. Or you may have to order them online.
Here are some good places to start - roofbox.co.uk & Halfords
