Step-by-Step Guide: Fitting Your ARB Aluminium Awning
- Gather your Materials - ARB Aluminium Awning, Pegs and guy ropes, Stainless steel mounting nuts and bolts, Mounting brackets (choose the appropriate type), Tools: Appropriate spanner or socket set
- Choose the Right Bracket - Select the suitable mounting bracket for your vehicle's roof rack or roof bar system. ARB offers various bracket options, including universal, ARB Roof Rack, ARB BASE Rack, and Quick Release brackets. Ensure it matches your rack type.
- Bracket Orientation - The ARB universal bracket can be oriented either upright or inverted based on your door and tailgate clearance. Ensure that the opening of doors and the tailgate doesn't interfere with the chosen mounting location for the awning.
- Bracket Installation - Align the chosen bracket with the mounting points on your vehicle's roof rack or roof bar system. Use the provided mounting bolts and nuts to securely attach the bracket to your rack. Tighten them appropriately using the tools.
- Prepare the Awning - Unpack your ARB Aluminium Awning and make sure it's in good condition. Extend the awning slightly to prepare for mounting.

Attach the Awning to the Bracket - With the help of a friend or family member, lift the awning and align the mounting holes on the awning with the bracket's bolts protruding from your rack. Slide the awning onto the bracket bolts.
- Secure the Awning - Use the provided nuts to secure the awning onto the bolts. Ensure they are tightened securely to prevent movement during your travels.
- Fine-Tune and Adjust - After securing the awning, double-check that it's level and properly aligned. Adjust the awning as needed to ensure it's sitting correctly.
- Check for Clearance - Open and close your vehicle's doors and tailgate to confirm that they do not interfere with the mounted awning.
- Test Stability - Ensure that the awning is stable and does not wobble. If needed, make minor adjustments to the bracket or nuts.
- Secure with Pegs & Guy Ropes - Use the included pegs and guy ropes to further secure the awning, especially in windy conditions.
Important Info for Fitting Your ARB Aluminium Awning
Before embarking on your outdoor adventure, it's important to note a few extra details for a seamless awning installation.
It is highly recommended to use a minimum of two brackets for mounting the ARB Touring Awnings, while three brackets are advisable for the larger 2500MM Aluminium and PVC Bag Awning.
Keep in mind that ARB recommends no more than 27 inches of unsupported overhang for your awning.
Double-check that the chosen mounting bracket doesn't obstruct the opening and closing of your vehicle's doors and tailgate.
Each awning will include six mounting bolts and nuts for secure attachment to the bracket.
